Chinatown 3D

The New York Times posted an interactive piece on the History of Chinatown, with a virtual walk through: Chinatown: Resilient and Proud

A street in Chinatown was created in 3D using Photogrammetry, something we looked at in class today. Unfortunately one gets stuck in the interface unless one is using a trackpad with two finger scroll, it probably also works well on tablets.

2020 ASIFAC Animation Festival and Conference

The program for this festival, organized by ASIFA-South International Animation Society, looks very promising, with workshops that are worth checking out. And I would say that even if they were not showing two of my stop motion animations!

It takes place on-line (on eventive.com) and costs only $5 for an all access pass.

More info on the ASIFA South website.

For Early Birds All Animators on Halloween

If you prefer to attend as a Zombie, you could stay up for it, but the *free* 6TH ANNUAL CAREERS IN FILM SUMMIT event organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has an interesting session at 10 AM on October 31: Halloween and Horror Genre Edition. The first section that day is about animation!

That is 10am Pacific, thus 7am Eastern.... Silly me: That is of course 1PM Eastern!
RSVP is required, open to all students.
